frequently asked questions.

Lash Extensions
  • Lash extensions typically last 3-6 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and how well you care for them. Fills are recommended every 2–3 weeks to maintain a full look.

  • When applied correctly and cared for properly, lash extensions should not damage your natural lashes.

  • A full set typically takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the style and amount of natural lashes the client has. Standard fills usually take about 60–90 minutes.

  • Traditional Classics or Hybrids are not offered here at the Coven, however, we do have similar sets.

  • Lash extensions may not be suitable for individuals with active eye infections, severe allergies, or extremely sensitive skin around the eyes. They are also not recommended for those who have a habit of picking, rubbing, or pulling at their lashes, as this can lead to damage of both the extensions and natural lashes.

Lash Lift & Tint
  • A lash lift and tint takes about 45 to 75 minutes from start to finish. It’s a relaxing process—you’ll be lying down with your eyes closed the whole time.

  • Results typically last 6–8 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle and aftercare. As your lashes naturally shed and grow, the lift and tint will gradually fade.

  • Yes, after 24 hours you can wear mascara if desired. However, most people find they don’t need it. If you plan to get lash extensions, it’s best to wait until the lift has fully grown out, as combining both can sometimes affect retention.

  • Yes! Lash lifts are especially effective for straight lashes, as they enhance the curl and make the lashes look longer. Thick, straight lashes may require a “second lift” a few weeks after initial appointment. However, very short or sparse lashes may not see dramatic results, so a consultation is a good idea if you're unsure.

  • This treatment may not be suitable for those with current eye infections, recent eye surgery, or a history of allergic reactions to lash or brow products. It’s also not ideal for people who habitually rub their eyes or pick at their lashes, as this can affect results and cause breakage.

Waxing
  • I currently offer waxing for the underarms, upper lip, and chin.

  • Hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This usually means waiting 2–3 weeks after your last shave or wax for the best results.

  • Most clients enjoy smooth skin for 2 to 4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. Over time, regular waxing can lead to finer, sparser regrowth.

  • For the first 24–48 hours, avoid sweating, hot showers, tight clothing, sun exposure, and fragranced products on the waxed area. This helps prevent irritation and ingrown hairs.

  • Waxing may not be suitable for people using strong exfoliants, Retin-A, Accutane, or other prescription acne medications, as these can thin the skin and increase the risk of irritation or lifting. You should also avoid waxing if you have sunburn, open wounds, active breakouts, or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis in the area being treated. Always let me know about any medications or skin concerns before your appointment.
